On-line Networked Terminals
ComputerWise manufactures a family of shop floor data collection terminals with full-sized keypads. The keypads are hermetically sealed to protect the keys against moisture, dust, grease, and most chemicals and solvents. All shop floor terminals are built with aluminum to withstand harsh environments and handling.
All of our shop floor data collection terminals will interface to any host computer which has an RS-232 serial communications port. The optional RS-422 compatible TNET interface allows multiple terminals to be multi-dropped in a network.
The terminals accept input from their keyboard, and optional barcode scanner, magnetic card reader, or auxiliary serial port (see data collection accessories). Large readable displays on the terminals range from 2 lines by 24 columns to 8 lines by 40 columns. The barcode option for our terminals reads and auto-discriminates nine barcode symbologies: Code 39, Extended Code 39, UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13, CODABAR, Interleave 2 of 5, and Code 128.

The TransTerm 4 terminal provides a large capacity display (8 lines by characters) for
industrial applications. This 24-key terminal includes eight programmable function keys to
simplify operator entry. [more information]
TransTerm 5 Data Terminal
TransTerm 5C Programmable Terminal
The small, easy-to-use TransTerm 5 terminal provides ideal solutions for applications
requiring data entry speed and accuracy. This terminal has 24 keys for entering
information and includes eight function keys that you can program with frequently entered
strings. The 24 character, two-line LC display is large enough to display computer
generated prompts and instructions.
TransTerm 6 Data Terminal
TransTerm 6 Programmable Terminal
The TransTerm 6 terminal has a QWERTY, typewriter-like key array for typing text at a
desk. The LC display provides two 40-character lines to give ample capacity for
computer-generated prompts and operator-entered data.
The TransTerm 9 terminal is ideal for point-of-sale (POS), or menu selection
applications. This terminal has a two-line by 40-character display and a 72-key
programmable key array to allow you to program and label each key to your specifications.
You can design your own overlay for the TransTerm 9 terminal or use our preprinted keypad
overlay. [more information]
The TSD1 is a self contained device designed to decode and transmit barcoded data to a
central computer using the ComputerWise TNET "REAL TIME" shop floor data
collection system. [more information]
The TSD1 can be used for:
- Door entry access control
- Time and Attendance recording
- Event Tracking
- Machine control
- Security alarm system
- Remote data entry
The TNET (TransTerm Network) is a "Message System" where up to 250 data collection terminals send and receive
messages from a single host computer. The TIM1B Network Controller simplifies the
interface by performing all of the detailed network device maintenance. The TIM1B is a
self contained device with a high-speed microprocessor, data storage memory, and five
high-speed serial communication ports (up to 19.2K baud). One port plugs into the host
computer (RS-232C via a DB25F). The other ports go out to TNET network devices
(RS422/485 compatible using RJ-45s). [more information]
The TNET Interface Module is a fast, low-cost
remote gateway that allows you to connect an RS-232 device such as a modem, scale,
printer, or programmable logic controller (PLC) on the TNET network.
The TNET Line Driver is a hub used on the TNET network to connect up to six terminals
to the network. This device has one IN port and seven OUT ports. The TNET Line Driver boosts the signal level at the IN port and sends the boosted signal
to the OUT port. (You can also use the TNET Line Driver to provide power to the data
collection terminals.) [more information]
TNET System
If you have been searching for affordable shop floor data collection you need to look no further than ComputerWise's TNET system which can put interactive data entry/display terminals at each of your in-plant work stations for under $500. per station .
